After their sold-out Bowery Ballroom show with Alexisonfire and La Dispute, Trash Talk hopped the bridge to Brooklyn to throw down a secret show with Cerebral Ballzy for our friends 1000 Knives and music blog Brooklyn Vegan. Here is Trash Talk laying down some straight up thrash at Archeron on Waterbury St. in Bushwick. We may post some more footage next week.
This past Thursday fashion designer Robert James held an in-store party/BBQ at his Orchard St. flagship store to announce the winners of the By Robert James photo contest. There was free beer, free burgers and some majorly good vibes. First prize was a Nikkon SLR digital camera, second prize was a $400 By Robert James gift certificate. Our boy Miguel took home 2nd place (see the photo below). He immediately spent that shit on a Jacket. Stoke!

Here’s a look at the Kick-Ass x Vans Movie collabo sneakers. This new yellow and green canvas colorway of the classic Vans Era is inspired by the costume of the main character in the new Kick-Ass movie (based on the Marvel Icon comic book). Kick-Ass stars McLovin from Superbad and that one dude from Ghost Rider and Valley Girl. *plug* *plug*
Vans hooked us up with a pair of these and we are clearly not immune to bribery.
Also, for some reason Chris from TSS is completely obsessed with this movie. More pics after the crump…
UPDATE
So it looks like Vans only made 100 Pairs of these and they will not be available in stores. So, no. You can’t have them. Stop asking.
We were shocked and saddened by the news of Alexander McQueen’s death. In addition to the current S/S 2010 line from his eponymous Alexander McQueen label mens and womens’ lines, there has been one final collection designed by McQueen for his McQ mens line. Heavily influenced by 60s and 80s skinhead/suedehead culture and featuring designs in striking yellow broadcloath and acidwashed denim, as well as slim tailored suits, this collection represents a designer clearly at the top of his game and may be the last gasp of fashion’s greatest rockstar, and one of the great design minds of the early 21st century.
Check out these new Vans Era shoes by Dutch skate artist Parra. He is also the mastermind behind the Rockwell brand. We’re pretty big fans of his work and these shoes are no exception. More pics after the break
Our first look at Nom De Guerre’s Spring / Summer line entitled Sturm Und Drang. The line features a range of jackets, sweaters, pants, shirts, shorts and more. More pics after the link…
