Riot Style is pleased to announce we’ll be teaming up with legendary Richmond, VA fun-core act VCR! VCR previously put out two records, VCR and Power/Destiny on Side One Dummy records. Unfortunately the band broke up in 2008 but they are back from the dead to party one last time with Riot Style!
This record will be the first of TWO special Halloween records from Riot Style
After their sold-out Bowery Ballroom show with Alexisonfire and La Dispute, Trash Talk hopped the bridge to Brooklyn to throw down a secret show with Cerebral Ballzy for our friends 1000 Knives and music blog Brooklyn Vegan. Here is Trash Talk laying down some straight up thrash at Archeron on Waterbury St. in Bushwick. We may post some more footage next week.
If you didn’t go to the Thrasher Skate Rock show this past Tuesday at the Autumn Bowl in Greenpoint, Brooklyn you are basically an asshole. Here’s some video we shot of our boy Dino thrashing the ramp. Epic.
We’ve commissioned a limited run of skate decks for Vancouver Skate Punk / Metal band Streets in commemoration of their three CD reissues on Riot Style. It features refreshed artwork originally by Lisa Sussman and redrawn by Barf (Municipal Waste / Born Ugly / Barf Comics). We will be giving away a few of these skateboard decks at retail and on various music blogs throughout the year.
Burgos was supposed to write us a post about how much she loves this band, but her words are escaping her. Murder City Devils have announced on their blog that they are doing a set of reunion tour dates this coming February. Full list and links (for you west-coasters and Brittish-Canadians) to get tickets after the jump.
Some more photos of The Bronx, this time from their CMJ showcase at Fontana’s in NYC. The Bronx are currently touring Europe in support of their third self-titled album The Bronx (III). Click through for more grainy flics.
Here’s some photos of The Bronx from their recent show at Maxwell’s in NJ.
In addition to The Bronx and their Mariachi band El Bronx, Matt and Joby moonlight in The Drips. Be on the lookout for a special collabo from Riot Style and The Drips in ’09. More photos after the jump.
If you don’t know Fucked-Up you better axe someone. They are pretty much the best active hardcore band right now (sorry Municipal Waste & Government Warning). So good no one cares that they’re Canadian and that says something. They sound like Total Chaos, except good and without the liberty spikes and they occasionally rock gear from our boys Death/Traitors.
Hi I’m Damien, This Is Moby
If you’d never met their lead singer Damien you might think he is one mean-ass-sonofabitch but he’s the chewy nougat center of the punk rock universeā¢. He is basically the punk-rock-dad version of Captain Lou Albano from the Girls Just Want Wanna Have Fun video, minus the hair.
This jam is going down on Sat. Live performances by Kidz In The Hall, Blitz The Ambassador, and our boys The Back C.C.’s. We’ll be there. Doors are $20, but once you’re in beer and drinks are super cheap all night. Did we mention Stockbauer is eMCeeing?
