ABOUT S.T.R.E.E.T.S.:
S.T.R.E.E.T.S. began summer of 2001 after picking themselves up off the floor of their East Vancouver, B.C. house and drinking the last of the beers they decided to start a band dedicated to skateboarding and life. They quickly moved from their basement to headlining local shows. The sound progressed through space and time to a more involved and complex idea. With elements of old school thrash, early 70’s metal and skateboard influenced punk rock they quickly sculpted a sound that would become the S.T.R.E.E.T.S. of now.
After releasing two albums and creating a strong local following S.T.R.E.E.T.S. embarked on several North American and West Coast U.S. tours between 2003 and 2007 including such exciting venues as ‘A kids backyard’, numerous pizza and skate shops, and many awesome venues.
As the energy around the band progressed so did the song writing. Moving from skateboarding to more complex narratives and songscapes, (all the while maintaining the stoke), S.T.R.E.E.T.S. are not just about thrashing and skating.
While band members have gone on to critical acclaim in bands like Pink Mountaintops, Bison, Pride Tiger and Children, S.T.R.E.E.T.S. reunited in 2008 for a series of sold out shows. Sipping the nectar of life and all of its realities and fantasies, S.T.R.E.E.T.S.’ music continues to explore life on a very wide spectrum.
All three albums including Invaders From Gnars, the third album from S.T.R.E.E.T.S. are available now on Brooklyn, NY’s Riot Style label, completely remastered and featuring fully restored album artwork. Expanded and remastered from the original albums, these new versions of W.O.R.M.S., Bobognargnar and Invaders From Gnars contains never before released bonus tracks. News of these reissuess has already been breathlessly covered on sites like Exclaim!, Gnarlitude, Pitchfork, Transworld and Vice Magazine.
